- Sprint Retrospective meeting is strictly between the Scrum Master and the Development team. Others can be invited if they provide a value add to the meeting purpose, even the Product owner.
- The primary motive is to learn continuously from the previous Sprint mistakes.
- The Action items from the meeting fall under the SMART criteria i.e. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Bound.
- The Scrum Master should change the meeting format from time-to-time to encourage participation and fresh ideas rather than sticking to the same format.
- Sprint retrospective is focused on the processes being followed and how to improve them.
- Positive team culture and trust are important factors for the success of Sprint retrospective.
- The Retrospective is applicable to all the teams, irrelevant to the high-performing or low-performing team.
- To encourage participation from everyone, it’s a good idea to have a few opening lines from every participant.
- Apart from the Scrum Master, others can also facilitate the meeting.
