Every leader/manager encounters this question on a daily basis. How to keep his/her team engaged and motivated?
The answer is simple but yet difficult to implement. The leader has to map team’s aspirations with the company goals or project opportunities. Most of the time, the primary aspiration is same for all the team members. In that case it becomes very tricky from management point of view. My viewpoint is to make sure the deserving team member gets the priority and manage other team members with some other motivational factors.
Another important approach to keep the team motivated is by delegating the authority which makes them own the tasks and instils the responsibility factor.
There would always be situations where one or more team members will feel let down and that’s the test of a true leader to manage it properly without any impact on the team and work.
